Get To Know Us
How did we get here? Well, the inspiration for Pick More Daisies came from a poem written by Nadine Stair that we have loved for years. The inspiration for traveling together came from our years of friendship after meeting at summer camp over 10 years ago. Recently we found ourselves in similar places in life-- needing a change and maybe an adventure. We debated a variety of cities to pick up and move to, but ended up deciding to try something else….travel to a foreign country together for an undetermined amount of time. These travels are under the ruse of improving our Spanish, but honestly the true goal is to pause the sensible and sane portions of our lives.
So, as our inspo poem suggests, during this trip we are going to be a little silly, take things less seriously, climb mountains, swim in rivers, watch sunsets, travel lighter, go barefoot more often. Get to know us on our adventure of seeking out moments and picking more daisies.
Meet Savannah: Howdy! My name is Savannah, I am 22 years old and just graduated from Virginia Tech! Throughout my senior year I was pretty unsure of what I wanted to pursue post-grad. I had a few ideas of things I could do, but when a family friend suggested I come to Chile that seemed like a no-brainer. Excitement began immediately for Megan and Sav’s chilean adventure! I am so excited to explore the country, visit friends, eat good food, drink pisco sours, improve my (very broken) Spanish, and most importantly pick more daisies!
Meet Megan: Hello! My name is Megan, I am 24 years old and I have been working full-time the past two years at a girl’s boarding school. I was planning to take some time to travel and improve my Spanish after graduating from Sweet Briar College in 2016, but had some struggles committing. When Sav threw out the idea that I could have a “take two” travel opportunity and join her in Chile I said yes, gave my job notice of my departure, and never looked back! I’m on a journey to say yes more than no this year, and pick more daisies.
